In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the process of saving your Shopify export setup as a preset for regular use in the Matrixify app.
This is a handy feature of the Matrixify app that allows you to streamline your workflow and save time on repetitive tasks. By the end of this guide, you’ll know exactly how to save a Shopify export preset and use it whenever you need it for recurrent Shopify data exports. Let’s dive in!

Steps in short

  1. Create a new export in the app and select Shopify data you need to export.
  2. At the top of the New Export page, locate the “Preset” section and use the “Save As…” button to save the export template as preset.
  3. When creating a new export next time, you will be able to select your saved preset to reuse it.

1. Create a new export with your configuration

The first step is to create an export with sheets, columns, filters, and option settings that you will need to save for later use.
To do so, head into the Matrixify app and click the “New Export” button to open a New Export page.

Here you can configure your export as you would normally – select Format, Sheets, and their columns, apply filters, and customize export Options.
You can set up any configuration you like to be saved for later use.

Notice: The export job option “Repeat every” from the Scheduling section will not be saved in a custom preset, to ensure that unnecessary duplicate job chains are not created by accident.

Update saved Preset

To update and change the custom export Preset you have saved, you need to open the New Export page in the app and select a preset that you want to change.
Now you can adjust the selected fields, options, and other export job details.

Once the details have been adjusted you can press the “Save” button in the Presets section to save the Shopify export setup into that same Preset.

Rename or Delete export Preset

To rename or delete your saved custom export Preset, you need to open the New Export page in the app and select your preset.
Next to the “Save” button press the chevron icon to open a dropdown with actions you can do with the preset:

  • Save As… – save the same preset as a new copy,
  • Rename – change the name of your preset,
  • Delete – delete the preset. This action is immediate and irreversible. If you have deleted the preset by mistake, you can always locate the same export job in the Matrixify All Jobs page, open it, and click the “Export Again” button for it. This will open a new export page where you can again save the export setup as a Preset.
